THE MARKET AND DISTRIBUTION

The sales of Husqvarna are mainly focussed on outdoor products. The majority of products is sold during the spring and summer when most lawn care and gardening activities take place. Most of the facilities are situated in the north and that is why they sell most products in the first and second quarter of the year.
The products for stone industry are directly sold to dealers and rental-companies, but all the other products are sold to dealers and retailers. Dealers sell the products to professionals and companies in the high-price segment and offer product service, while retailers do exactly the opposite (most of the time).
The market is split about 50/50 between two channels, the retailers in America and the dealers in the rest of the world.
The revenue of Husqvarna in 2009 was 34 billion Swedish krona, that is about 3.5 billion Euro.
